Piece unique: Blacksand Continuity Ocean

The story behind the Continuity Ocean Watch is in attracting funds to research into paraplegia both in Switzerland and around the world. Marking the 15th anniversary of Bal du Printemps, the Geneva watchmaker Blacksand, has conceived the unique and stunning  “Continuity Ocean.” Housed in a pink gold case set with diamonds, a turtle entirely made and engraved by hand makes us travel in a sea of enamel.

The Blacksand Genève 1999, self-winding calibre powers the watch. With an indication of the jumping hours at 12 o’clock and the dragging minutes at 6 o’clock, the water window at 3 o’clock stands for the day / night indication.

The various decorative techniques include cloisonné grand feu enamelling, meticulous gold cutting, as well as the subtle integration of coloured motifs, to create a beautiful azure  backdrop for the turtle to swim in.

There is a collection of other Blacksand Continuity Ocean watches featuring turtles, but this is the first to employ cloisonne grand feu enamelling. The brand was established in 2011 by industry veteran Alan Mouawad. So knowledgeable is he that at a glance, he can identify the pedigree of a watch: the brand of a given model and its production year. His expertise and experience in the field of wristwatches guarantees him a clear vision of the contemporary watch industry.
