Proof once again that Hublot’s stock is rising rapidly in terms of popularity among luxury Swiss watch brands. This one of a kind Hublot Aero Bang received the highest bid of all the watches on offer, and that included established brands such as A. Lange & Son, IWC and Zenith.
The winning bid was for $23,000. The gold and ceramic Hublot watch has a skeletonised dial and is 44.5mm wide. It was among a number of luxury watches donated to the auction event.
Sponsorship deals
In addition to undertaking a lot of charity work, Hublot have been tireless in sourcing lucrative endorsement deals.
In 2008, Hublot agreed a sponsorship deal with Manchester United worth £4 million a year. That same year they provided special versions of their Big Bang watches to referees officiating at UEFA Euro 2008.
In March 2010, Hublot was appointed the Official Watchmaker of Formula 1.
In April 2010 Hublot became the official time keeper of the 2010 FIFA World Cup and the 2014 FIFA World Cup.
They have also been involved in a tie-up with the Financial Times, sponsoring the newspaper’s iPad app.
