One off Sea Hawk 1000 under the hammer in Christie’s Green Auction

Girard-Perregaux has created a unique Sea Hawk 1000 model for the upcoming Christie’s Green Auction, a collaboration of individuals, organisations and businesses engaged in spirit and action, in the protection and conservation of the environment.

The appropriately green dialled Sea Hawk 1000 “Green Auction” watch features a steel and rubber 44 mm case and houses a Girard-Perregaux manufacture 27-jewel calibre GP033R0 automatic movement with 46 hours of power reserve, water resistant to 1,000 metres. It will be auctioned live from March 29th through April 19th on www.charitybuzz.com.

The star-studded affair is expected to raise millions of dollars in proceeds for four of the world’s leading environmental nonprofits – Oceana, Conservation International (CI), Central Park Conservancy (CPC), and Natural Resources Defense Council (NRDC)- specifically to benefit water-conservation projects central to each organisation.

The 2012 Green Auction marks the third year the brand has supported this event, since its start in 2010. Following an exclusive cocktail reception, the live auction will offer attendees the opportunity to purchase one-of-a-kind fantasy lots including The Sea Hawk “Green Auction” 1000.

The watch will be available for viewing and bids at http://bidtosavethearth.charitybuzz.com/.
