With its famous Cricket alarm wristwatch, Manufacture Vulcain has released  a new limited edition of the 50s President, which pays tribute to France, a country that has had long established links with the Swiss watch brand.

The new model is presented in a 42mm round case which is 12.4mm thick and crafted from 316L stainless steel, complete with satin brushed and polished finishes and domed crystal sapphire. Inside the case is the manually wound mechanical Cricket V16 movement, which comprises 191 parts and is decorated with 22 jewels. The movement beats at 18,000vph and has a power reserve of 42 hours. It is also equipped with the Vulcain Exactomatic system which helps to improve rating regularity on the wrist.

The stunning silver sunburst dial is further highlighted by the blue Vulcain logo, sweeping seconds hand and alarm markings and radiant finish of the Dauphine styled luminescent hour markers and hands. There is also a date window at 6 o’clock. The outer ring of the dial can be used to set the alarm function via the black tipped central hand arrow.

Limited to just 50 pieces, the case back of the French edition of the Vulcain 50s is engraved with the name of the watch, its individual serial number and a crown of laurels which is a symbol of peace, knowledge, strength, creativity and accomplishment.
