The bobby’s are very much back on the beat on the UK South Coast. Currently one criminal is aiming to stay out of the heat quite literally after he broke into a family home in Devon.
TAG Heuer Sel
As Britain basks in high temperatures, four watches were taken in Cockington worth around £10,000. The items that were stolen by the professional criminal featured a TAG Heuer ‘Sel’ as well as an Omega Seamaster Professional.
Omega Seamaster
The Omega Seamaster is a sophisticated little number and has been in production for the best part of half a century. Most models offer an automatic winding chronometer not to mention a bespoke caseback that features the iconic Omega logo. It can even travel to depths of more than 1100 feet underwater.
Double oh heaven
But what makes this piece so special is its close association with James Bond. Both Pierce Brosnan and Daniel Craig have worn different Seamaster models in GoldenEye and Casino Royale respectively.

Meanwhile the victims have certainly been shaken but not stirred after this episode. They have appealed for the safe return of the high end timepieces which have added sentimental value.
In fact according to reports, one of the actual watches had been purchased as a gift on the occasion of the victim’s wedding. It is believed another watch was bought at the sight of the Twin Towers where some of the family actually worked. Tragically, they suffered as part of the 911 attacks where one of their relatives sadly lost their life in New York.
The family involved have decided to keep their anonymity but have chosen to speak out as the police are confident the watches may still be in the South Devon area.
According to the Herald Express, the mother declared after the incident; “It leaves you feeling like it’s your fault. It’s a horrible feeling. It affects your confidence. You don’t want to wear your jewellery anymore. Two of the watches in particular are really important for sentimental reasons and it would be lovely if we could get them back.”
She went into more detail about the significance of the watches:
“The one with the brown leather strap was a wedding present to my husband from me in 1998. Another one is important to me because I’ve got family out in New York. My family worked in the Twin Towers and when I went to visit, there was a private jeweller where I bought the watch for my husband in 1997. They had recently been valued at just over £10,000.”
It turns out that it took the mother of two kids a number of weeks to identify that any items had disappeared. Thanks to the careful and tidy approach taken by the pesky robber, the family did not realise the horological pieces had grown legs and vanished.
TAG Heuer Kirium Chronograph
They have now been given plenty of advice by the authorities to take preventative measures on improving their safety. The other watches that were taken include a TAG Heuer ‘Kirium’ chronograph and a TAG Heuer automatic ‘Sel’ chronograph.
Let’s hope time catches up with this particular individual.
