While it may not be a diamond engagement ring, Rihanna‘s new gold Rolex watch may still hold some romantic significance. Umbrella girl Rihanna is now sporting a high end Rolex timepiece. Did she buy it herself, or did Chris Brown buy it for her? And what was the motivation behind the purchase? It seems the pint-sized star was celebrating her latest success thanks to her recent album and single topping the US Billboard 200.

In fact, this was the 24 year old’s seventh album release. Entitled Unapologetic, this just launched a few weeks ago and went straight in at number one along with the main single called Diamonds which has also sailed to the top spot. Talk about being in seventh heaven!
With a quarter of a million albums sold within the first week, this outperformed all of her records as far as debut week sales were concerned.
Born in Barbados in 1988, Rihanna has gone on to achieve worldwide success which has been rewarded with a number of awards and accolades.
Among her impressive stable of trophies include a whopping five American Music Awards, eighteen Billboard Music Awards as well as five Grammy Awards.
She has had an astonishing twelve number one hits to her name, whilst selling a total of around 25 million albums not to mention more than 50 million digital singles.
Considered to be one of the bestselling artists in the United Kingdom, she is worth an estimated $30 million (and counting).
One of the first things she decided to do was to log on and show off her new arm candy on social networking site Twitter.
Yet this has sparked rumours of a revival in her relationship with long time beau Chris Brown. He also helped himself to a brand new male version…on exactly the same day.
Rolex Sky Dweller
It turns out that Brown posted images of himself wearing his own gold Rolex, what looks to be a gold Sky Dweller, via his personal account just hours after Rihanna posted hers.
Meanwhile, Brown seems to have a penchant for the high end brand. This is largely in part down to him posting another image via his own Instagram account. This shows a vast collection of Rolex’s with enough bling on display to sink a ship.
There have even been rumours flying about that he bought the special item for Rihanna as a potential gift.
Rihanna has been in the capital over the past few weeks. Although she has been combatting illness, she still had time to make a guest appearance on reality show The X Factor which reaches its climax before Christmas.
However, the duo have been spotted together living it up in different cities including Berlin over the Thanksgiving weekend. So this has not dampened alleged rumours they are rekindling their love.
Aside from their common interest, which is of course recording music, both seem to have a real love affair with the renowned Swiss watch maker.
After their long time out, this saga is certainly set to run and run.
