Just a few months ago they unveiled their updated HTC One with its all-purpose metal chassis which has been a winner among mobile addicts.

The Taipei based outfit have been losing ground in the race for top mobile spot amid the surge in sales from not only Apple but Samsung who shipped more than 30 million devices in the last twelve months.

But first let’s see what HTC have done with this revamped model. It features the latest operating system (Jelly Bean) which comes as standard while the screen offers full HD on its ample 4.7 inch display.

It also includes an ultrapixel camera and also incorporates stereo speakers that are located on the front.

It is believe that the “ultrapixel” camera is considered to be the best camera to take images in extremely poor light.

We all know how annoying it is when we have captured the perfect shot only to look back at a pixellated mess that looks like you have been possessed by the devil! At just 4 megapixels it may not be enough for some who want a dedicated camera.

As it contains a larger camera sensor it claims to result in picture perfect shots no matter how badly lit the area is. This is no doubt at plus point for those budding Mario Testino’s but is enough to capture our own imagination?

Sales in HTC phones have fallen sharply since 2011 thanks to the rise of both Samsung and Apple. Yet HTC have introduced brand new software which is hoping to turn heads such as Blinkfeed.

Similar to the app called Pulse, this all in one content feed allows the user to personalise content based on their actual interests. This is aggregated on the home screen and ranges from the latest content to the hottest social goings on.

In addition to this, the Taipei Corporation is bringing out another function that’s aimed to attract new clients. Entitled HTC Zoe this feature has the ability to take high definition video clips with a difference.

It actually works before and after the shutter has been pushed ensuring you capture that magic moment. In fact if you want to be the next Steven Spielberg then it can even convert a number of pictures into a short film.

When it comes to their previous flagship device the HTC One X, this really didn’t take off as they would have liked. Overall profits in the last quarter of 2012 plunged like Tom Daley by more than a whopping 90%, and saw the fourth consecutive quarterly loss for HTC.

Meanwhile, with innovative models emerging from the Galaxy S4 to the iPhone 5 both Samsung and Apple have had the momentum of a runaway freight train.

According to research company IDC, HTC don’t even figure in the most popular smartphone producers slipping out of the top five rankings altogether.

They were beaten by developing Chinese companies such as Huawei and ZTE. With the mobile market becoming increasingly saturated, it is now really sink or swim for HTC.
