New Tissot 2013 MotoGP collection

There is as I write 1 day, 14 hours, 51 minutes and 27 seconds to go before the high adrenaline Red Bull Grand Prix of the Americas roars into action and Tissot has just unveiled its MotoGP watch collection for 2013, which includes both quartz and mechanical timepieces.

The popular Swiss watch brand is the official timekeeper of the MotoGP and as such each year releases a dedicated official watch line for the event.

Tissot 2013 MotoGP Chrono and 2013 MotoGP quartz

This year Tissot have two new highly collectable T-Race MotoGP Limited Editions. One is powered by a quartz movement and limited to 8,888 pieces while the second is a mechanical watch limited to just 3,333 watches.

The watches take inspiration from motorbikes used in the MotoGP, and those familiar with highly tuned motorcycles might recognise a brake disc design on the dial. The incorporation of a rich teal blue on the strap echoed on the second hand gives the collection a fresh and dynamic look for 2013, and the limited editions come in a cool helmet shaped collectors box.

Tissot president François Thiébaud said: “Tissot is proud of its profound link and longstanding partnership of 13 years with MotoGP. The dynamic and fast nature of the sport matches the brand’s spirit perfectly.”
