Lifestyle: MoModul Modular furniture

Lifestyle

Storage and organisation is a problem in nearly every home, especially if it’s a bachelor pad or dedicated man cave. We all need somewhere to store our electrical entertainment, music collections and everything in-between.

More often than not, the solution is to buy a fairly ordinary piece of flat pack furniture that is functional if a little uninspiring. In addition to being time consuming and incredibly frustrating to assemble, you’re ultimately stuck with the same ever-present fixture for several years to come.

However, there is now a solution for those wanting to restore some much-needed living room order while being creative at the same time.

Interchangeable furniture

MoModul 3

Recently showcased in the spaces of Ventura Lambrate at Milan Design Week, MoModul modular furniture is a unique and innovative system to solve household clutter. Created by Belgian designer Xavier Coenen, the product has been produced to answer a range of interior dilemmas.

The piece of furniture comprises three different sized modules made from birch plywood. These free standing units of various capacities feature specially designed cuts on every side. This allows the individual to form geometric patterns by slotting each piece together without the need for tools, screws, bolts or adhesive.

With construction easily taken care of, it is possible to create a distinctive piece of furniture tailor made to the room’s requirements. If you’re tight for space, the MoModul can be long and thin. Or if you require a focal point on a feature wall, the piece can be assembled short and wide. The free standing unit can also be utilised in the middle of a room, either as a coffee table or storage case accessible from both sides.

What’s more, for those looking to constantly reinvent their living space, the MoModul’s flexible and adaptable nature allows for an infinite amount of solutions. As opposed to an ordinary piece of furniture, Coenen’s creation is also durable, stylish and contemporary. The only limitations to such a changeable product will be held by the customer’s imagination.

Postage and packaging rates depend on each individual order, however customers can expect to wait three months for their piece of furniture to arrive.

Bulova Usonian II Clock

If you love clocks as much as you love watches, you will want to add an attractive clock to sit atop your MoModul system .

The realisation of a great American dream began in 1875 when Joseph Bulova, a 23-year-old immigrant from Bohemia, opened a small jewellery store on Malden Lane in New York City. In 1911, Bulova began manufacturing boudoir and desk clocks, along with fine pocket watches. During World War I, wristwatches were issued in the military for their greater convenience. Bulova timepieces use only the finest materials, precision, craftsmanship, and state-of-the-art technology for enduring quality and performance. This great looking clock costs just £52.15
