For the third year running, renowned Swiss watch maker Jorg Hysek exhibited a selection of some of his latest timepieces at the 6th annual Salon Belles Montres, which was held at the Carrousel du Louvre in Paris. The famous horology showcase ran from November 23rd to 25th and offered watch enthusiasts and collectors a first glimpse of some of the world’s most elegant timepieces.
A particular focal point for many of the 12,000 attendees was the HYSEK Furtif Chronograph Grande Date. Building upon the success of the 2011 edition, this year’s version boasts the new HYSEK calibre 4057 movement, which is an impressive feat of engineering work in itself, featuring a double micro rotor – one of which is 22k gold and can be clearly seen on the dial, with the other rotor located on the reverse. The movement is housed inside an attractive titanium and rose gold case, which is completed by anti reflective sapphire glass to ensure excellent readability.
Limited to just 30 pieces, the latest version of the HYSEK Furtif Chronograph Grande Date also features a rotating disc that displays seconds, which can be found at the position of 9 o’clock, as well as a 45min counter at 3 o’clock. The watch beats at 28,800 vibrations per hour and has a 48 hour power reserve. It also contains 416 moving components and 49 jewels.
Water resistant to 30 metres, (basically only splash proof), the watch comes on a stylish hand-sewn alligator strap and a double fold-over buckle, offering extra security.
For a brand that is very much positioned in the high-end luxury watch market, HYSEK have certainly continued with their ethos of producing both creative and distinctive timepieces that are also impressive from a technological view point.
