Cvstos Challenge Jet Liner Carbone

Swiss watch maker Cvstos has built up quite an ardent following since its launch 2005, and when you look at its collection of watches, it’s easy to see why. Of course, with the brand being just eight years old, Cvstos can still be considered as one of the bright young things of the watch making world. The brand is very much about fusing master craftsmanship with avant-garde technology and design, the results of which are usually very impressive.

Arguably one of Cvstos’ most popular collections is the Challenge Jet Liner, which was originally unveiled at Baselworld 2012. The collection is said to be a tribute to the world of travel and adventure and is made up of a series of watches that are both functional and incredibly stylish.

The latest addition is the Cvstos Challenge Jet Liner Carbone watch, which is Cvstos’ first timepiece to include a tonneau case inlaid with carbon fibre. In fact, the delicate process involved in making the case is quite something. By cutting the carbon using a series of lasers, each tiny component has been crafted to perfect geometry. The case has then been manually coated with seven individual layers of lacquer, before being finished with a manual polish. This results in an incredible standard of finish which is noticeable in the overall appearance of the watch.

The watch itself measures 53mm in diameter and is available in either titanium, steel or red gold, as is pictured above. The sapphire glass case back means that the automatic calibre CVS350 movement is visible from the front and back and also features a 42 hour reserve, has 25 jewels and vibrates at a frequency of 28,800vph.

Taking a closer look at the dial, the use of white Arabic numerals set against the black colour of the dial offer the wearer excellent readability.

The ultra light, Cvstos Challenge Jet Liner Carbone is another fine example of a timepiece from a brand, which if you haven’t done so already, you should start to take a look at.
