Bucherer double bill: Patravi Day Date and Patravi Travel Tec FourX

Carl F. Bucherer watches always capture the imagination with their elegance and style. The Carl F. Bucherer brand, which was launched in 2001, operates under the name Bucherer Montres S.A. and is an independent company with over 90 years’ experience in the manufacture of high-quality timepieces.

Bucherer designs and produces its own movements in-house and is the only brand with manufacture status in Lucerne. The Bucherer brand reflects the passion of its eponymous founder, Carl Friedrich Bucherer.

Patravi Day Date

Carl F Bucherer Patravi Day Date watch

The Patravi DayDate is a new model in the Patravi family this time in a round case. The watch is powered by the proprietary CFB A1001 in-house manufacture movement. The CFB A1000 was launched at BaselWorld 2008 and received plaudits from the industry, uniquely the movement featured a bi-directional oscillating weight, which enabled a superb view of the movement normally found only with a manually wound calibre.

Housed in a 42.6mm stainless steel case, the black dial features a large date and day display with 12 silvered hour markers that accentuate the pared-down simplistic line of the case. Small seconds are at 6 o’clock. The dark tones of the watch are complemented by a black calfskin strap which adds a stylish finishing touch to what is undoubtedly an elegant and distinctly sporting watch.

Patravi TravelTec FourX

Carl F Bucherer Patrava Travel Tec Four X

The second of the new watches in the Patravai range is significantly more complex. The concept behind the Patravi TravelTec FourX is 1 watch, 3 time zones,4 materials. Carl F. Bucherer proved itself capable of resolving this ambitious equation with a technical tour de force some six years earlier in 2006. In 2012, there is an unexpected combination of 18k pink gold for the case, ceramic for the bezel, rubber for the crown and pushers, and titanium for the monopusher.

This intricate chronograph runs on the in-house CFB 1901.1 calbre movement with a power reserve of 42 hours. The 46mm watch comes in 18k pink gold water resistant to 50 metres. The hours, minutes and seconds counters are positioned at 6, 9 and 3 o’clock respectively. The watch strap is of high quality rubber with an 18k pink gold buckle.
