French watch manufacture B.R.M. (Bernard Richards Manufacture) have just released the V12-44 Gulf, a limited edition watch developed in association with Gulf Oil, who have been actively involved in motor racing since the 1960s.
Strictly limited to 100 pieces, the V12-44 runs on an ETA Valjoux 7750 automatic chronograph movement housed in a superfine 18/8 stainless-steel black PVD 44mm case meticulously designed to resemble a piston with grooved sides, and featuring a black dial with blue and orange Gulf stripes.
The beautifully crafted handmade leather strap has punch holes which also features Gulf’s colours of bright orange in the lining and two tone stitching.
Even the buckle clasp has 12 individual components of polished aluminium.
The V12-44 Gulf comes in its own special case, complete with the limited edition watch number stamped onto a metal nameplate, acting as the ‘chassis’ number for the watch.
The first models were presented last week at the Retromobile trade fair alongside the premiere of the unique ROFGO Collection of original Gulf racing cars and attracted much attention from enthusiasts and watch connoisseurs alike.
The B.R.M. V12-44 Gulf and V6-44 Gulf forms part of a 4 piece collection for which each model will be in a 100 piece limited edition. The BRM website offers a much wider selection of the B.R.M. V12 series and enables you to ‘build your own watch’ by choosing the components you desire.
Suggested retail price will be around US$9260.
