Corum Admiral’s Cup AC-One 45 Regatta

As a long term partner of the most prestigious regattas and leading sailors such as Loïck Peyron and Ben Ainslie, the development of a calibre combining a countdown function with a chronograph was the next logical step for Corum. This has now been accomplished in some style with the new Admiral’s Cup AC-One 45 Regatta, equipped with a regatta function entirely developed by Corum.

Embodying all the classic features of the Admiral’s Cup collection originally created in 1960, the new Admiral’s Cup AC-One 45 Regatta model combines technical innovation with grand Swiss watch making traditions.
The powerful, innovative and efficient Admiral’s Cup AC-One 45 Regatta model beats to the tune of a new automatic calibre: CO 040.

This new CO 040 calibre features a countdown timer that is adjustable from 0 to 10 minutes via the crown, coupled with an eye catching readable digital jumping display. At the start of the race, a “crazy” or idlertype wheel blocks the start time and the high-precision chronograph takes over to record up to 12 hours of racing.

In terms of design aesthetics, the Admiral’s Cup AC-One 45 Regatta is true to the original with a twelve-sided bezel and nautical pennants on the inner bezel ring. The hour indications, with hands and hour-markers coated in light Superluminova, are elegantly distinguished from the red-accented chronograph measurements, all framed by a titanium case with contrasting black PVD-finished elements and polished or satin-brushed surfaces.

The case is made from grade 5 titanium with a black PVD-coated bezel, and is water-resistant to 300 metres. The case back is fitted with a transparent sapphire window to reveal the movement and its black PVD-coated oscillating weight. A titanium grade 5 bracelet or crocodile leather strap with folding clasp completes the watch.
