Lifestyle: Tech Watch: Unveiling of the sizzling Samsung Galaxy S4

Simon Lazarus cuddles up to the hot new Samsung Galaxy S4

Beauty is definitely in the eye of the beholder thanks to the latest addition from the Samsung stable. Launched last week, welcome to the glorious Galaxy S4.

Following a wave of furore, lights and cameras at the official presentation in New York, perhaps this was a clever ploy given that this is the home of the Big Apple.

As we know the brand is famous for its eye-popping super AMOLED screens which make colours more vivid and images even crisper.

Yet the first thing you will note is the improved dimensions of this new device. Boasting a 5 inch screen you can now control what you see just by your eye movement.

Look away and the movie you watch will pause instantly while the Smart Scroll feature ensures you can browse quickly down a web page, check emails and scan a host of content with just your goggles.

This has all been done in order to tempt the consumer onto the Android platform which was also promoted at the launch not to mention the fact that Samsung are outselling Apple in the tech sector.

Building on the success of the Galaxy S3

The new Galaxy S4

This nervous looking gentleman may lack the panache of the late Steve Jobs, but there is no denying there has been a huge amount of buzz surrounding the Galaxy S4. It’s all down to the overwhelming success of the S3 in 2012. How triumphant was this? Well it has sold more than a whopping 40 million units across the globe.

In addition to this, the company presented its latest offering in the digital camera arena. Boasting an impressive 13 megapixel rear and two megapixels front camera, the new S4 has the ability to capture two different images at the same time.

This is largely in part down to both cameras at the front and back of the phone. Meanwhile, the S4 is set to be available internationally by the end of next month with more than three hundred different mobile operators across 155 territories carrying the product.

It will be accessible in two different colours, namely black and white. The Smart Pause function is considered to be one of the most innovative selling points of the new handset.

Eye motion control

This smart eye motion control really makes the S4 stand out from the smartphone crowd. How about those vital weight and dimension stats?

It seems the S4 is a sexier, sleeker model when compared to its baby brother the S3. The phone weighs in at just 130 grams and is less than 8mm thick.

Of course we cannot miss out their signature HD AMOLED screen that amounts to more than 440 pixels per inch.

If that’s not enough then the S4 also doubles up as an infra-red remote control which gives you the opportunity to control not only your television but your sound systems.

Flexible storage space

Flexible storage is another key area where Samsung triumphs. Here, you can choose from 16GB, 32GB or a massive 64GB of space. It will also come with the latest Android 4.2.2 Jelly Bean operating system. Consumers in the US can take advantage of the snappy quad core processor which will make web browsing a breeze.

Samsung have certainly been busy and have received record demand for the S4. In fact some retailers are recording a four hundred per cent plus increase when it comes to pre-registrations of the device.
