As awards season has already kicked into action with the Golden Globes, it’s high time we brought you news on Raymond Weil’s latest venture. Founded in 1976, Raymond Weil is a family owned Geneva-based brand that makes watches known for accuracy, quality, dependability, and charm. It has been making high quality timepieces for over 30 years and remains in the family hands.
Now the renowned independent Swiss watchmaker has exclusively revealed the first pictures of their luxury timepieces made specifically for the BRIT Awards 2013 taking place on February 20th at London’s O2 Arena.
Raymond Weil Freelancer
The Raymond Weil Freelancer collection is known for its men’s and women’s watches that are elegant and classic. Just as the name suggests, Freelancer is all about watches that show creativity and independence.
The brand has been recognised for their exquisite design as the official timekeeping sponsor of this iconic annual music awards show for the 6th year in a row.
The Freelancer timepieces will be presented to artists performing on the night as well as each presenter and a host of VIP guests that boasts the crème de la crème of the music industry.

The male limited edition silver dial version features a 42mm case made entirely from stainless steel and includes an automatic movement and rose gold hands with a 46 hour power reserve. If you don’t make it to the VIP guest list then you can catch a glimpse of these limited special designs via high-end jewelers and watch retailers in UK.
Meanwhile, there is also something for the ladies. This particular Freelancer watch comes with an automatic movement as standard and a striking Clous de Paris motif in the centre. It’s a sizeable 38mm stainless steel case, housing a movement with a 38-hour power reserve.
Each watch has been finished with an exhibition caseback decorated with this year’s BRIT Awards logo, featuring the trademark spot design of British artist Damien Hirst. The design has also been carried through to the BRIT Award trophies for 2013.
This particular design is also reflected on the actual trophies that will be handed out at this lavish affair in the UK capital.
“We are delighted to continue our support of The BRIT Awards in association with MasterCard for the sixth year in succession. 2012 has been an exceptional year for British music and Raymond Weil is proud to have supported the likes of Emeli Sande and Tinie Tempah. We hope everyone likes the new Limited Edition BRIT timepieces that we feel are reflective of the importance of our love of quality and support of such a prestigious event.” Raymond Weil Director Pierre Bernheim
Last year Raymond Weil created limited edition watches for the Classical BRIT’s which took place last October.
Raymond Weil’s sister brand, 88 Rue Du Rhone, has been given the proud honour of sponsoring the upcoming 2013 BAFTA Awards on Sunday the 10th of February.
BRIT Awards
Now in its 33rd year, the BRIT Awards already has a stellar line up with several performers already announced. These include such stalwarts as Robbie Williams not to mention US chart teen toppers One Direction, Muse and the legendary Rolling Stones, who have been living like they’re young for over 50 years.

There are even rumours Beyoncé may be putting in an appearance, despite the fact she will not be receiving an award. Whether she will be performing live (or not) is a different story altogether! This follows a slew of controversial headlines after allegedly lip syncing at President Obama’s inauguration on Monday. (Ed: let’s hope we don’t all have that ‘syncing’ feeling.)
