AVANT-GARDE is the name of the new collection from cutting edge watchmakers Hautlence. The collection has just been released and the first 3 models are available this autumn. The new collection offers an innovative, and seemingly weightless, approach to time display.
The 3-D presentation of the dial is achieved by cunning layers of depth and transparency. The eye is immediately drawn to the unique transparent sapphire dial: the dial’s upper face features a transfer logo, as well as luminescent minutes and indexes. The lower face includes a semi-opaque area and a metal coating made from highly polished rhodium or rose gold, while underneath this, there’s a base dial in silvered opaline.
The three new models are the HLRS 01 Rose Gold, the HLRS 02 and the HLRS 03 Orange Honeycomb.
The numerals are easy to read thanks to the luminescent 3D effect of the jumping hours, retrograde minutes and subsidiary seconds.
The sleek, curved steel and titanium case measures 46 mm (from left to right) by 42 mm and 12.8 mm in height, making it larger and much more prominent on the wrist than the HL Collection. The case is covered by black DLC on some models.
All models in the Avant-Garde collection come on a black caoutchouc strap with folding buckle.
HAUTLENCE’s in-house manual winding mechanical movement with jumping hours and retrograde minutes uses HAUTLENCE’s connecting rods system. The finish is of top quality with hand-drawn strokes and hand angled finishing.
The watches in the AVANT-GARDE collection are likely to retail this autumn at around US$32,200.
