Armin Strom Watches

Armin Strom is widely regarded as the world’s leading experts in producing skeletonised watches. During his career, which spans more than 30 years, he has been involved in skeletonising more than 200 watches for a number of different watch makers and brands.

In 2006 he founded Armin Strom AG, which is based in Biel, Switzerland. The company very much builds on Strom’s watch making expertise in skeletonised watches, which is then combined with its use of modern and innovative technology and manufacturing.

The end result is its collection of impressive watches, which has seen Armin Strom AG quickly establish itself as one of the world’s most highly regarded watch manufactures.

Today, Armin Strom AG is separated in two different brands: Armin Strom and ARMIN by Armin Strom, which together produce less than 1000 watches per year.

The Armin Strom brand continues to specialise in skeletonised watches, whilst ARMIN by Armin Strom is aimed at a younger, dare we say trendier watch buyer. For those who are somewhere in between, the Armin Strom Racing Collection is also well worth taking a look at.

Whilst not all that new, Armin Strom still represents one of the best  start up watch brands of recent years, with its main focus on creating exceptionally well made watches.

Armin Strom Tourbillon Water

Launched in 2013, the Tourbillon Water includes Armin Strom’s new in-house ATC11 calibre movement which is made up of 184 parts and includes double spring barrels and 24 jewels. The watch also has a 10 day power reserve. Beating at 18,000 vph the movement is housed in an 18ct white gold case which measures 43.40mm in diameter and includes a sapphire crystal on the front and back, complete with anti reflective treatment.

The watch is a part of the limited edition Coffret Tourbillon series which celebrates Armin Strom’s first in-house made calibre tourbillon.

Armin Racing Chronograph

The Armin Racing Collection includes watches produced in the red, white and black of the Marussia F1 Racing team, as well as being manufactured from a number of materials that are also used in the construction of F1 cars.

The watch pictured above is the Armin Racing Chronograph White which is driven by an automatic mechanical movement that includes 25 jewels and power reserve of 46 hours. The case measures 44m in diameter and is made from titanium with an anti reflective sapphire crystal on the front and back.

Limited to 500 pieces, the Armin Racing Chronograph White is water resistant to 50 metres.

Armin by Armin Strom One Week Earth Collection

The One Week Earth Collection consists of four timepieces – Earth, Wind, Fire and Air, with each watch limited to 100 pieces. The timepieces are powered by a manual winding ARM09 calibre movement, which comprises of 146 individual parts, is decorated with 34 jewels and beats at 18,000 vph. The watch also features a seven day power reserve.

The version pictured here is Earth, which includes a 43.4mm case crafted from titanium and stainless steel. The dial consists of three main parts with small seconds and power reserve indicator at 9 o’clock, with hours and minutes indicated in an off centre display. The dial also features visible crown wheels and is an excellent example of Armin Strom’s expertise with skeletonised watches.
