This is what happens when you lock a dozen or more artists up in a cell for weeks on end, deprive them of air and light, hose them down with water once a month and tell them to design a watch. Most of them haven’t stood too close to a razor recently, and none of them wear sensible shoes. It’s precisely the kind of thing your headmaster warned you about.
In Vannen Watches we have the mind searing designs of creatives types with sandblasted pasts and photoshopped futures, and the result is some cheap quartz watches which really stand out as gripping puzzling and puckish examples of modern art on a watch.
Vannen Limited Edition Artists Watches
The blanks are of course nothing but low cost quartz plastic, but at least the quartz movement is Japanese, and they probably keep time every bit as good as the TAG Heuer Mikrotimer Flying 1000 for which you paid a silly amount of money. They recommend that you keep your Vannen Watch out of decadent places like hot tubs and saunas, as they are only waterproof to 30 metres.
The watch styles vary from traumatised street graffiti to bastardised Asian pop culture mixed in with strong strands of underground comic book consciousness and no doubt a healthy dose of crystal meth paranoia. They are clearly onto something as many of the watches are sold out.
There’s a new watch coming out on September 28th called Descendents Timeage, another Limited Edition Artist’s watch. The first limited edition Descendents watch, “Cool To Be You” sold out in just minutes… so if this kind of thing appeals to your inner zombie, be ready to grab this one quick!.
Featuring completely new artwork and a BONUS surprise, “Timeage” will be available only at DescendentsOnline.com, KingsRoadMerch.com, and VannenWatches.com. Photos will be released soon on the Vannen website, Twitter, and Facebook pages.
